How agriculture has been effected
Agriculture has been affected due to animals not having any food or water. The cattle are dying out and so is vegetation. As the water availability is dwindling, people are losing money and not earning anymore due to the Lake not having enough water.
In the past people would walk through the land with their animals, yet due to the climate change they don't do that anymore. More and more of the villages and people are staying put and not moving to other areas, which is contributing to overgrazing.
The land around Lake Chad is now being used to grow cash crops. Cash crops are not consumed by the farmer/person but sold for the people to make money. Because of this people are forced to use poor land, marginal land, to farm. This means the bad quality land quickly becomes useless. Marginal land usually has little or no potential for profit, and often has poor soil or other undesirable characteristics. Other problems include soil erosion, salivation and drought which leads to disaster for the people and villages.
