Who has used Lake Chad
Lake Chad provides water for over 30 million people living in 4 countries. The 4 countries are Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria and Niger. The main users of the water from Lake Chad is animals and people. There are 8 islands located in Lake Chad that also use the water, these islands are: Kindjera, Kofia, Kalom, Isseirom, Malal, Dabouroum and Ngelea. Lake Chad is a main stopover pot for birds. It's not only a stopover for birds it is home to over 37o different species of birds. Ethnic groups are also uses of the water. The villages that live around Lake Chad use the water for fishing and farming. Fishing is vital as it is used a lot, fisherman could catch up to 176 different fish to feed their families. The significant portion of the catch is either dried or smoked.
